Seats

I saw the steering wheel discussion and I think the late model GM Wheels look awesome in these trucks. Has anybody installed a seat out of an 88-94 truck in a 67-72? Those seats are a lot more comfortable and mine needs replaced anyway. Is this a simple bolt on or do you need to drill holes and make shims?

Mine is out of a '98 I think. Not a bolt in. I had to put 1 inch square tube spacers under the middle brackets on the drivers side to level it and drill a hole for each. Very comfortable and I love the arm rest that folds up and down. Plus it's power and has the lumbar adjustment (I never use it, but it's cool)

Can you guys post pics of the floor where you mount? I've got a '98 bench that I really like due to the positioning of the shoulder belts. Only I'm not real thrilled with the floor location.

67-72 floor are totally different form any other years floors, youll have to set the seat in the cab and use brai power to figure up ways to make it mount in there, if you have a welder then you could cut off the legs and weld new ends to fit the 67-72 floor

I like the late-model burb seats, but what about some of the car buckets from the late 60's?

One DUMB thing I did was....When I bought my 69, it had 1st generation camaro buckets mounted in it. And they were trashed!! So I pitched them. I should have kept them and sold them off. They could have been recovered.

ALL of those interiors look great. I'm jealous!
Doing my 72 this summer. The seat is shot. Wondering how many of those conversions were done in a truck with the gas tank behind the seat?
Can I do the same thing, or were these all done with the gas tank re-located?
Thanks

My 69 has a 60/40 power seat ouy of a 78 Olds 98, fits good but I got a bench out of a 94 truck to go in. With my interior being burgundy it has been hard to match.I like the late seats in our trucks its a inexpensive way to change the interior.

the 89 Burb seats have the gas can behind them, the arm rests on the seats fit with the arm rests on the doors too. The center consol holds my AM/FM/CD and a 6 disc changer.

Mine are out of a '94 pickup

(still don't have a digital camera, someday...)

I got mine form a junk yard, it came out of a '94 pickup, straight bench, no console, armrest, head rests, etc.. I used one of the stock holes in front, but had to drill three others. I stacked a bunch of washers under the back corners, about 7/8" high. Still has the gas tank. Looks great (clean). Can fit three people easily. VERY comfortable. My seat cost $150 a few years ago. Do it!

These seats only cost me $150 out of a late 80's to early 90's Bonneville. They look like the 94 chevy pickup seats. Just drill holes, no spacers needed.

To everybody who's done a swap... how is the "stomach to steering" measurement as compared to stock? I'm a little short for my weight so I need all the room I can get behind the steering wheel.
