dash year model question

I recently picked up what i thought to be a 62 chevy truck dash guage cluster. After looking at a lot of pictures on the web i have seen that the one i have is different. It seems that most have speedometer in the center with 2 guages side by side on either side of speedo. The one i have has the speedo in the center with 2 guages(one on top of the other) on both sides with spaces on the outside of guages w/delete i think for tach and clock option. I could use your help in finding out what this cluster came out of. I was going to morph it into a 53 gmc dash, but if its somethig special id rather not cut it up. Thanks for your help Rudy

Rudy, it's hard to know for sure without a picture, but it sounds like the full gauge cluster you have. It was available in 1/2 ton trucks, but was used more in the 3/4, 1 ton and bigger trucks. I've seen several different variations of the 60-63 instrument cluster. There was one with the fuel gauge on the right and a temp gauge on the left, another with temp lights instead of the gauge, and the full gauge cluster with tach and vacuum gauge or air pressure gauge in the big trucks. I've never seen one with a clock, but I'm sure it was an available option.

Hello,I agree 60-66NUT,the cluster described here is from the big trucks. The series 10-60 shared the same cluster package even the trucks with vaccum power brakes, these trucks had the vacuum gauge mounted on the steering column. The big trucks series 70-80 had a unique cluster with tach (upper right) and a air pressure gauge for the air brakes ( upper left). All clocks were of the free standing type mounted on a pedistal on the dash, left and front of the speaker gille.
I to have seen several variations of the clusters in series 10 trucks. The housing are the same and those of us that want a tach often opt for the 70-80 cluster.

Rudy,if you do "cut the gauges up" I would love to have those delete plates for the big upper gauges (tach, air pressure).Send me a PM if you want to sell the delete's or the whole gauge cluster. Thanks

Hi Chaco,
The guage cluster you have is from the 1960-63 C10's that came loaded from the factory with options. These also came on the bigger trucks as stated in the other posts.

I'd love to see the picture too, but our chickensh#t server won't let me open any pics here for some reason. All I can see is the pics that are actually posted.
