Exclamation distributer help!

Hey there guys I just brought home a 1964 chevy pickup and need some help with the dizzy...it doesnt have one...I went with hei on my '69 and it made all of the difference so that is what I would like to do on this one I just need someone to verify size and fitment for me. It has the original 283 v8 will hei out of any old small block chevy work?? like a sbc 327-305-350? as lond as it doesnt have the extra 4-pin flatplug? I want to go to the junkyard tomorrow morniong and get a good one if possible.

Yup, most of them are the same. Just watch out for the connector.

BTW, 327 was long gone before HEI ever came out.

yeah thanks longhair..what I meant was I used a sbc350 hei dizzy and it worked for my 327...just seeing if they were all compatible. Thanks again

I know the 265 has a lower denck height, and if any 283 engines do, it would be the early ones, not anything that late.
So any HEI will fit, as long as it is from a small block chevy, or a big block chevy.
