Time to get wife new vehicle....Help!!!
My wife's car is getting tired and she is wanting a new vehicle. I have tried to talk her into a "pristine" ready to drive 72' Blazer, I mean a $15,000 dollar one, and she is not really too impressed with my idea. She wants an 05' Mid sized SUV of some sort with heated seats for her pretty lil' rear end, lol. I can buy any GM vehicle at a special employee rate, so..... which one would you buy??? Has to be 4 door.
Trail Blazer Envoy Equinox a Buick?? a Saturn??? I don't know??? any other's I forgot??? OR>>>>>> Should I just tell her "Too bad your getting a 72' Blazer", LOL...and I'll be getting served with some papers..LOL!

The Equinox/Saturn Vue is a great car for her.
The Trailblazer is big and has lousy MPG for what many people use it for IMO Regarding the 72 Blazer - Remember forgiveness is always easier to get then permission

My wife has recently driven the Trailblazer - she liked it alot but it did use alot of gas she said, and the Equinox - we both liked this one. Very roomy and comfortable and nice to drive too. Plus the kids didn't like it, cause it wasn't a fun vehicle to them. lol
I always tell my wife, the fancier you get the fancier the repair bills and headaches.

Ok...ALL Wheel Drive or Front wheel drive.....We live in Colorado...= SNOW.
I asked if she wanted a Hummer...NO Kidding...and she just said "I don't think so". Hey this isn't the dark side..LOL~!!! She does like the Equinox it comes front wheel drive and All Wheel drive...opinions???

My mom has had two trail blazers in the last 4 years and they are real nice, got rid of the first after a hard deer hit and still on the second. haven't had any mechanical problems or anything, very comfotable smooth riding vehicles. plus the 4200 I-6 picks up and goes pretty well. we've never towed with them because we also have 2 3/4 ton cummins trucks so i don't know how they do there. good luck with your search

My wife loves her Z-71 Burban. She originally wanted a Tahoe, thinking the Burb was to long for her. Went to dealer and looked in back of Tahoe...too small for kids and our 90 lb. Lab's crate, so we looked at Burb. I kept telling her it was shorter than my 01 Ext Cab 4x4, but only after the dealer pointed this out did she believe me. We drove the Burban and she was in love.
It's been great vehicle for her. DVD, XM, heated leather seats, all the goodies. And I liked the 0% financing! Has 33k on it now and she still loves it. Just my $0.02 for the bigger vehicle...

I saw the new Saturn the other day and was surprised how good it looked. I would go with a Tahoe if it were me.

If you want a bigger suv I would go for the Tahoe. If you want a smaller one I would go for the Saturn Vue Redline V6 Awd. I was atthe Saturn Dealer awhile bace to look at the Ion Redline (supercharged 2.2 with the quad doors) and saw a black Vue Redline and could not believe how cocky looking it was. I don't like the funky green color but I loved the black one. It has 18" rims 245/18 tires slightly lowered with different bumper covers and ground effects. I guess it's built on the same chassis as the Chevy Equinox (don't like the look of the Equinox) but with the plastic panels. I think it has a 3.5 supercharged honda engine and drivetrain. From what I've seen of the Trailblazers from a mechanical point of view ( having work on a few myself) and from a bodymans point of view (my best friend has a bodyshop) I don't like the way they are built/put together. What was GM thinking replacing the S10/S10 blazer with the Trailblazer/Colorado. Reminds me of the time GM replaced the Nova.

I was in the same situation a couple months ago and i let my wife pick on her own and she went with a vehicle cheaper than anything i sugested so it worked out well for both of us. We looked at thse red line vues but i wasnt impressed for the price. The other Vue's dont look as nice but are a much better bargain though the starter is gutless so unless its just your wife driving it .... id spring for the v6 model.

FYI the Saturn Vue v6 is a Honda engine, so it should be fairly reliable
My choice would be either Buick Rainer (their version of a TrailBlazer) Or an Ext cab(4 door) 4x4 Z71 pickup

Never liked the Avalanche when they first came out, with all that plastic crap on the sides, but since they're available now w/o that junk, they've kinda grown on me. My vote for the Av.

I looked at the equinox (online) for the first time after reading this thread. It has a decent look to it. Not so SUV-ish. Before you decide on it, investigate the AWD system. Some of those AWD cars don't work well in foot deep snow usually due to viscious slippage built into the system. Otherwise, can you get an Escalade on discount?

ha my wife is going to be driving a 51 ford coupe in a few years after we get done rebuilding it. right now she is driving a ford focus because it was cheap, reliable, great gas mileage,oh and did i say really cheap

The new crew cab pick-ups are pretty nice and can easily be transformed into an all weather family "grocery getter" with the addition of a hard tonneau or shell. Plus in the winter you have a place to stow any muddy/wet gear without worrying about screwing up the factory carpeting or seats.

Does it have to be new? Is she crazy about trucks like you are Alex or does she really not care what she drives? If it were me....and I had $15k to spend...I'd buy a used Tahoe..4X4..lift it...put some 38's on..and go have some fun in that snow...but than again..this is ME!

No Tree it doesn't have to be new, but that is the easiest way to trade in her Intrigue and leave in the same day with a new car, and no real headaches. She's not nearly as interested in the 67-72 trucks like I am. I think she will enjoy driving my dropped 71' when it's ready this spring. I'm going to let her do the final decisioning...I'm just here to guide her. As always you guys n girls are the best! Thank you for helping me.

I work for gm...the envoys and trailbalzers are reliable mechanically byt trim wise they are constantly in for bad weatherstrips or inoperative mirros. lots of electrical stuff. think they are hard on fuel as well
Id go with the equinox. nice lookin roomy
