My boss has a house he's selling down there, so I got nominated to go with him, wow 14 hours one way, this is going to suck, no truck parts, no puter, I hope they sell beer there!!!!!!! Anyone having any dealings with me, I'll get back with you as soon as I get back from there. Thanks Randy

If you're interested and have the time, the Mercedes Benz factory is near Birmingham, and the do offer tours of the factory, stop at the welcome center as you get into Alabama, and pick up a brochure

sorry, but the factory tours aren't running right now, i think they will start back in the fall, after the "06" models come out. (not sure on the date)
i live about 10 miles from the plant at woodstock. (stop by if you like)

Now you're hittin my neck of the woods. Spoke to some folks in Birmingham this morning. Afew72's is close there. Buckshot is too. Jacquesdean is not far either although I have not heard much from him lately.
See you when you get back. Safe trip.

Yea, they sell beer there! Stop in Decator on your way. I wish I could remember the name of the bar we used to go to down there. Nice people down there, I remember that!
Have a safe trip!

I live about 30 miles west of b'ham. Is there one off I-20 also? I just went to the one on vanderbilt road kinda of I-20/59 in birmingham yesterday saw a couple of trucks but I was there getting some parts for my wifes IROC. You definitely get a work out walking up each isle looking. at least they do have them in categories like GM, Chrysler, and that bad name(F**D)

THANKS for all the info guys!!! I'm not sure how much time we will have, we have to do some work on the house is why I have to go with him. Our route is to Mt Vernon then south trough Paduka, then on south to where we are actually going is Bessemer. I'm going to work real hard and fast on the house so its not that long a trip for me hopefully. THANKS AGAIN, Randy

Teeitup,

When you come south from Paduka, you will probably take Interstate 65 south once you get to Nashville, right? Anywhoo ... once you cross the TN-AL state line there will be a welcome center with a Saturn rocket out front (big son-of-gun ... ya can't miss it!). I live in Athens, which is the next town (of any size) you come thru on I-65 south ... it's about 8-10 miles further South.

Should you have any troulbe within 50 miles of that rocket, give me a call.

I will PM you my cell phone number.

Travel Safe and enjoy your stay in 'Bama!
