I got my York times 3!!

I went to the Pick-N-Pull today. I wanted to find a York for the Jimmy. I couldn't find a way to get the pullies off at the yard, so I couldn't check the stroke. I ended up pulling 3 to help my chances of getting a good one.
When I got them back I checked them over. All of the clutches are good, they are all pumping air, and all of them turned out to be the long stroke!! What a lucky day!!
I am going to put one in the Jimmy, one in the 4x4, and save the other for a spare. There were 2 others at the yard but I didn't see a need to pull 5. I pulled 2 off Volvos and one off a F*rd.
Thanks to everyone who gave me all of the great info. That CK5 article was awesome as well.

I have taken 3 Yorks off junkyard cars over the past year and they've all been the long stroke version. Must be the most common model.

Is there a short stroke model that doesnt work as well or something.

There are 3 versions. Short, medium, and long stroke. The longer the stroke, the faster it pumps. In one of the other York threads there is a link to a CK5 article. Read that, it explains a ton.

Seriously, it's a older style A/C compressor. It can also be used as an air compressor (for air suspensions) since it has it's own oiling system and does not rely on the oil in freon for lubrication. Lubrication is key!
