Want to buy a bezel assembly for a 55-57 (58-59?).

I have a spare original style dash gauge bezel panel(s) assembly for a 55 GMC.
I believe that the 55,56 & 57 GMC used the identical dash assembly (uncertain about 58-59). I also have spare original gauges. Let me know exactly what you may be interested in. Sorry, I don't have a camera or pictures for you.

Did you check the www.1955gmctruck.com web site for a picture of the dash assembly, as I suggested in my pm the other day?
If you are planning to use aftermarket gauges, they more than likely won't work in the factory dash asembly set-up. You may be better off fabricating a new dash "bezel plate" to fit your new gauges.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the GMC bezel but here's the pics that S/S referred to. As I understand it, I'll need the plates but where do I get the outter trim? It would be nice if I can just buy the complete stock bezel

OK, I will try to explain the dash assembly components.

2 (right & left) DIE CAST MOUNTING PLATES. The gauges are secured to the backside of this, on several bosses or pads which have tapped holes for gauge clamps & fasteners.

2 (right & left) SHEET METAL DECORATIVE PANELS. These are located on top of the mounting plates. The sheet metal is bright & shiny with the horizontal stripes. The trim piece that you refered to is actually the edge of the die cast plates under the sheet metal panels.

6 GAUGE BEZELS. These are the decorative rings around each gauge.

If you are using aftermarket gauges that are a different than the factory gauges, I would be easier to fabricate a new dash panel rather then modify the original one

The plates very being reproduced, but are not longer available in stock configuration. The seller, Ken from Florida, I can get you more information if you want it, still has a couple of non stock sets left.

The bezels came in both white and chrome.

The Dolphine 6 gauge set I have measures 3-1/8" for the Tach and Speedo, 2-1/16" for the gas, oil, temp and fuel. What size holes are in the decorative panels?

I'd like to get a pair of the decorative plates and the trim piece.

Unfortunately, the aftermarket gauges are a different diameter.
The stock speedometer & bezel is 3.80" diameter.
The stock smaller gauges & bezels are 2.20" diameter.
I know of no aftermarket gauges, that will interchange with the stock bezels or dash assembly confiruration without some modifications.

Yeah your gauges are to small to work in the stock assemble. Don't give up yet!
I am planning to fabricate my own dash instrument panels to fit aftermarket gauges.
I think that you can do the same, with some small amount of work.
Right now I am in the market for a gauge set, before I start the panel fabrication.
Can you tell me about you gauges & why you pick them to buy. What should I look for in a good gauge set?
