Finally got primer on the cab today! Been working all winter on the stepside box ,fenders,grill etc. Hopefully will be ready to paint when spring hits here in Iowa. Haven't totally decided on color yet but leaning towards bright red. I included a pic of how she looked when I drug her home.

Lookin good. yeah pickin a paint colour is a tough one. Personally i Like the 2000 corvette millenium yellow. The gm indigo blue is also nice. its off of the pick ups from 96 and up

Looks good so far.

I hope that's not red spot putty on the hood. If it is, you need to get rid of it and use a catalyzed spot putty. That crap was bad in the days of acrylic enamel and lacquer paints. These days with all your paints being catalyzed, that spot putty will rise to the surface on you and ruin a paint job...

Thanks for the tip n2trux . Hadn't heard that one before. I just have a couple of spots and it won't be hard to sand it off. Would be sad to get painted and see that happen. I do use acrylic enamel on my paint jobs.Sounds like the new stuff is much easier to spray but I can't afford the new style bc/cc. Especially red!

Yes I agree bright red, this is a red used on the corvette, can't remember the color's name right now. The lighting in the garage doesn't do the red justice, I'll try to get a better pic of it soon.

Torch Red is a awesome colour. I just had my 67 sprayed last week. I love it.

Oh Red is really expensive I did a complete coulor change to do the inside and outside of the box the doors firewall and the inside of the cab it took nearly 2 gallons of red base. And a little over 1 1/2 of clear. A total os $ 1220 dolllars. Ouch.
