Whats this for?

Hey Folks! I need your help! Can someone tell me what this hole is for and where I might be able to get a plug for it? Looking at the front of the truck it is to the left of steering shaft and slightly lower! This is a 67 2wd lwb 283 auto. And while Im here where can I get the noise and heat barrier for the cab floor of these trucks? Thanks in advance! Todd

The clutch pushrod passed through that hole on manually equipped trucks.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's the hole for the clutch linkage to pass through. If you had an automatic from the factory, there was a little plate (that I can't find my picture of) screwed over it.

Somewhere around here I have a few of the factory coverplates. If a pic isn't posted, I'll see if I can do it.

I managed to sell this one for 15 bucks after a quick run through the sand blaster and some nice paint.
You could easily make one our of some scrap metal or alluminum.
Hmmm...Maybe I can cut out a hand full and sell them....

I did some digging but only came up with one. I'll check my junkyard toolbag. I always pull em when I see em. Let t-mad answer in the thread if he wants it or not (no pm's). If he doesn't want it, it's yours. The one I found has not been sandblasted or painted but it's in good shape. $2.00 via paypal to cover shipping and an envelope will get it there....

If someone will make a paper template of one and send it to me, I'll make some up for folks who need them.

one thing to consider though if making them, the original has bout a 1/16" lip around the edge.Prolly not a big deal for most.
If you want TX I could email a pic of it with dimensions, you could adjust the size of the pic if needed, print and cut out a template.
Ah hell it'd be easier to just make one and snail mail it to ya .PM me your addy if you wanna do it.
