84 GMC seat in my 80 chevy?
My neighbor up the street has an 84 GMC Sierra Classic that he put a rebuilt 350 from a nova into it hauls. ANYWAYS, he has a really nice bench seat in it but its upholstered in chevy bowties He said he'd sell it to me. Will it bolt right in? Aren't the newer seats tilt forward seats also?

Yeah, the newer trucks do have tilting seats, even my 80 GMC does Don't quote me on this, but I do believe the seat would bolt right up...

I just put a seat from my 86 Chev into my Indy Hauler so I can get the original redone. It's a bolt in.

Tilting front seats where not standard equipment on Custom Deluxe's. I checked a couple of brouchers and it only mentions tilting seats on the Scottsdales and higher series. This bears out as my uncle has 3 Custom Deluxe's (76 & 2 79's) and none of them have the tilting seat. I don't know if it could be special ordered on the Custom Deluxe series. Doug |

Yeah mine doesn't tilt. Kinda why I wanna get his . And while its not a perfect seat (the corner springs are sagging but still intact), its in better shape than mine.

I think the only difference in the seats is how the seatbelts are routed. I think they come through the seat on 81 & newer trucks. Check you LMC catalog for the differences, but this will not change how it fits. You might be able to combine the two and make one good one. Doug |

I put a seat from a 80 into a 83 and had to change the inboard seat/lapbelts because the ones in the 83 cab were too short to come between the seat. The seat belts should be plenty long enough for the 84 seat going into the 80.

Ive had four seats in the trucks over the years yes the custom deluxe model had no tilt but any 73-87 benc seat on the original tracks is a direct swap between the cabs

Ditto my 82 has the tilt seat, but it is cloth so maybe it was an option. Some one removed the options sticker and I never found a build sheet so see if it was standard or what.
