Needing pics????
Of 67 tow hooks. A good front pic so I can see the position they are mounted. I'm sure these will be mounted different that the 77 hooks.

These are home made hook mounts on a '70 but if you are not going for stock this may give you some ideas.

Okay poff, you have my curiosity up. What's the lock for?
I've never see those kind of hook with 3 mounting holes before either.

I have the 77 hooks on the truck now, but what I'm really wanting to see is the factory hooks on a truck like it came from the factory. Thanks.

If you could get some lower shots to see where the hooks end for the proper angle of mounting. Or some lower pics from the side.

I welded a chain link to the 1/2" plate that I mounted the hooks to then I bolted a length of chain to the hood latch so I could lock the hood shut (I live in Southern California!). My original plan was to weld some tabs to the plate so I could use the third hole but since the pictures I built a new bumper with D-rings. I got the hooks off the shelf at a local 4x4 shop.

Is this what your looking for Mudder67? BTW, my truck came out of Weyland MO, so that rust you see under there is from your neck o' woods, not mine!

Do you mean Wayland, MO, Americanrider? Wayland is about 13 miles from me! How long ago did you get that truck?
BTW, I don't think those are factory tow hooks. But then again, I don't know much about the "older' trucks either!

Here is one of the '70. I did a search for tow hooks but didn't come up with any '67. Hope this helps though. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=hooks

I searched also and can't find them. Anyway, Americanrider's are not factory. the 60-68 style is mounted kind of weird on the 67 and 68's. the open part of the hook faces towards the sky, and the loop is closed on the front bottom and back. the 69-72 hooks have the open part at the rear of the hook. I will try and draw a pic since I can't explain it very well.

Real '67 hooks or not?
Where you looking for this thread 1969 GMC?
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=hooks Mine sure look like the "small curl 67-68" hooks in that posted drawing. Maybe they are original, maybe they aren't... I can't ask the PO because he is having his final rest. However, I'd like to get another opinion besides yours. Maybe Rod, Andy, teeitup or JunkyardJohn could jump in on this one? 454_72_4x4, This truck was my 1st purchase from evil-bay in June 04. I sold my '91 Silverado 4x4 and wanted to get something to tinker with and work hard at the same time. It was purchase new by Floyd Wright of Wayland MO, he used it on his farm for many years, after his passing it sat until his wife went into a care home. I got it from his son, Wayne Wright who was in charge of the estate sale. I have the factory order sheet & protecto plate, owners manual. On the way back here it blew the radiator, starter and one brake line... but it lives again! |

Hahaha, That's probably why your truck looks so familiar to me. IIRC, I seen it sitting in Wayland with the box up at the Jct of hwy 61 and hwy 136!
Always thought it would be cool to have the dump box but never stopped to look at it. Regarding the hooks, I think all the factory hooks bolt to the side of the frame. Yours are bolted to the bottom. I sold a set of hooks that looked identical to yours, (other than being chrome), a while back. I deleted the picture of them though.
