Need some electrical help

Can someone tell me what the switch is that is mounted under the dash and looks to be on the accelerator mount. When you push the gas pedal down, the pedal arm comes down onto this switch. Is that the switch for the passing gear on my Turbo 400? If so, how should it be wired. Right now, there are two wires coming out of the switch. One looks like it is going down to the transmission (it's raining, so I didn't climb under there and look) and the other was wired to the Ignition Unfused position on the fuse block. Thanks for your help.

The wiring is correct as you described, just make sure that the detent switch on the tranny is plugged in and it should work. If the kickdown does not work check the switch adjustment and whether it is making connection when depressed.
