Trailer hitch wiring
I am about to buy a trailer hitch for my truck and I need to know how some of you have been wiring it for the trailer. I do not want to "cut or splice" some wires into my original ones, and I have seen what is called a "wiring T adapter" for sale in the Paddock magazine. Also, any picks may help.

Sorry no pics....but I used the T-adapter from Early Classic, worked great. Also have the same thing on my late model Yukon from NAPA, also works great. No cut, no splice, easy to remove later if you want.

I got a Hoppy kit for my truck at auto value. plugs right inline & it was cheap too.

I got my "plug-n-play" Hoppy kit from Walmart for around $12 if I remember correctly.

What is the part number or description of the Hoppy kit from Wal Mart?

I believe the part number is 41105. It is used on full size trucks up from 1967 to 1985.

My Napa kit was for a 95 Yukon, the one on my 72 c10 is from Early Classic. The kit from EC is part# 06-6772TW for $20. As for fuses, I've had no issues with mine, they worked perfect since day one.

The first one I got was not wired correctly from the factory so every time you put on the brakes the dash lights would come on. I took it back and got another one and I have not had any problems. I have towed our camper and a couple of different utility trailers and have yet to blow a fuse or bulb.

I have the original setup on mine but I spliced in one of the 4 wire flat kits from walmart. I don't think anyone uses the old one I have anymore, it's the 4 wire round. It's disconnected right now, I can't figure out what wire goes where. Theres a purple wire, a blue wire, and a black/green wire. Not trying to hijack the thread here but it would help if someone knows this.

I couldn't fint the T adapter, so i went to the junk yard and got some plugs like where you T in the adapter, and made my own plug in T adapter. I think I have a whopping 2 bucks in it.

I used the Hoppy brand also, They are at tracktor supply or any RV place. It has the male-female 4 prong plug to flat 4. Just screw down the ground lead. Since then I went to a 7 pole for the camper and trailer with brakes.

i got my hoppy t connector at autozone but had to get the 73-87 one it still fits the same.
