temp gauge question
On my factory temp gauge the 1st line reads 100, the 2nd line is blank, and the 3rd line reads 210. What temp would the 2nd line be?

Thats what I am thinking but my blazer hardly ever goes over the second line,so that means I am always running around 155? does that sound right?

The factory guages were never very accurate. Though it would seem 155 is correct, you must take into consideration where the sender is before condeming the factory set-up.
If in the head, it is possible that the water in that location is not yet up to thermostat temp (water moves to the rear of the block, up to the heads along the way, and then to the front of the heads and out the intake. Unless it is a newer engine. ) so then 155 would be close. If however your sender is in the intake, the guage temperature should indicate the same temp as the opening temp of the thermostat. Then 180 would be more likely. And therefore the guage is incorrect. Just a thought. |
