I think it looks pretty nice the way it is, but I don't really care for flames on our trucks. Harley davidsons are another story, though.

It is kinda hard to do flames on a red tuck. IT does look pretty good, but flames ould make an Avalanch look.....well, maybe not.

My truck isn't painted yet but I plan on using Viper red with a silver tint flame. I am thinking that I will have to use some pearl white as well to get it to look right.

I like subtle flames...there's a lot of trick trucks out there that have them and they look pretty cool...however on your truck i think it looks sweet just the way it is.

I do have one question for you...i noticed that you have the stock gas tank behind the seat...have you done anything to keep it from leaking gas out the cap? Mine leaks gas when it full and gets sloshed around while driving. I use a chrome locking gas cap.

I'm getting ready to paint and wasn't planning on moving the tank.

Thanks

Ken

I love flames, but really think you should leave it as is. Your truck really looks good in all red.

Bye the way, what color of red is that?

I LIKE FLAMES, & THEY LOOK GREAT ON THESE OLD TRUCKS. ESPECIALLY WHEN PUT ON A TRUCK THAT HAS PERIOD CORRECT WHEELS (LIKE CRAGER SS) & NOT SOME 18 OR 20 INCH WHEELS OR A 1990 BED. GO FOR IT. IT'S JUST PAINT, & A TEMPORARY THING. DRAG OUT & GO THRU A STACK OF OLD HOT ROD, CUSTOM & CLASSIC TRUCK,& SUPER CHEVY MAG.s & FIND A STYLE OF FLAMES YOU LIKE.

I had the same problem, gas sloshing out and hitting my paint. I simply paid $5 for a replacement cap at a parts store, and problem solved!

Just do the outline of the flames and don't paint them solid. Use silver outline. Also I think your inner grill would look sweet painted red. Just my .02

Flame It!

Anything with flames is cool......after a few beers a couple of weekends ago, we even taped off the compressor tank in the shop and did a three color flame job on it! What the heck, we had the extra paint and had nothing else to do.....LOL!

With the bright red on your truck, I would try for some ghost flames (something along the lines of a silver or white pearlescent).

Desert Rat is right on with his idea of some subtle flame.....I like the way he thinks...

Ghost flames look good..but expensive to have done..Who has ghost flames on their trucks now? How about some pic's? and a lil idea of the cost? I have tossed this idea around in my mind.

Another opinion:

On a red truck do Traditional Flames White around the nose, fade to yellow and accent with blue tips.

But she is nice the way she is.
