holley carb.

I finnaly fixed my holley carb. I took it off and put the quadrajet back on. It works perfectly now, fast idle works properly. Now i'm happy. Now what to do with the holley...

Its a 4160 600 cfm w/electic choke. But its a peice of crap and dosen't work right. Its got internal problems, somthing is really messed up with it.

Hmmm, I don't doubt that something could be really screwed-up with it. I have seen some crappy Holleys. They are easy to rebuild and fix unless the throttle body or main body are warped bad. Could be a clogged passage, worn throttle shaft bushings, a number of things really. They are a dime a dozen however, might not be worth messing with.

I hate Quadrajet carbs but when they are running good, it hard to beat them for mileage and performance. I just never seem to get them running really good and hate rebuilding them. Way too many pieces for me. Hope you have good luck with that Rochester, I know people who swear by them.

I can tell you what I did with the one and only Holley I ever bought. I gave it to a friend who put it on a truck he was selling. The buyer called him repeatedly with carb problems. The guy finally put a Carter on it and quit calling.

I would hold on to it ....... you may be able to use it to trade or somthing......if nothing else they make good ash trays for the garouge........lol No wait thats a hub cap:p
