Seat fit or not
Anybody know if a seat out of a 2000 Chevy pickup will fit in a 70 stepside (tank in cab) It would be nice to have the integrated shoulder harnesses and I already need to replace my seat. Any info would help. Anybody done this?

it will fit but is a little more cramped than the stock bench, I have one in my 70. Give me a little bit and I'll see if I can find the pics

found them...
I put the installation pic in there so that you could see where I mounted it. You will have to drill holes in your floor, and I used some 2x4 flat steel plates under the floor to use to keep the seats from ripping out, if I ever get in a wreck. The finished installation pic shows the truck with the gas tank out of the cab, but it is back in until I get one for under the bed. If you use the center section that folds up like I did, you won't be able to fold it all the way up before it hits. Feel free to ask any questions you might have with this.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like a snug fit, but I bet they are comfortable. A whole lot safer with the extra support you put in and the headrests and shoulder belts. Reinforcing under the floor is a great idea, I'm going to do that with mine now, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Thanks.

I have them in my truck. I used 4x4 plates to keep the nuts from ripping out.
