It was a good day.
After waiting patiently for several years, I finally rounded up the remainder of the parts needed to complete both my projects. All in one package too! This was actually listed on ebay but categorized under accesories and parts. Not only that but he abbreviated chevy as chev in the title and description. Needless to say, I was lucky I saw it! Cut a deal to get it bought and picked it up today.
Details...it is a low mile '68 2wd body mounted on a '81 3/4 ton 4wd chassis. Now I can use the rust free cab for my '68 and the bed for my '71 and not feel guilty about tearing apart a nice original truck! The body only has 76K miles on it right now. He took his motor out for another project and sold it to me for $900. So I've got the 3/4 ton diffs, TH350, and 205TC to move down the road later to make most of my money back (I hope!). All in all it is very straight and clean, just what I've been waiting for. Even drove 300 miles in a snow storm to pick it up! Downside is he trimmed the fender cups to fit the tires he had on it and compensate for the longer wheel base . They're nice otherwise so worth the time to weld up some new cups though. Now I just need to find time to get my other two trucks up to Idaho from Denver!

I have heard of people "wanting" snow, but never seen anyone haul it home in the back of the truck like you did

You're right, probably would have helped to unload some snow! He also had a bunch of spare parts under there somewhere so I didn't want to accidently toss something out. You should have seen the two feet that fell off the top of the cab when I turned the first corner! Luckily it went off the side so I lost a little weight there anyhow.
