FYI, that truck has been posted here before, a year or two ago. Not by owner though, it was "found" somewhere on the web. I assume it's the same truck, you don't see that setup everyday. Did you recently acquire it or are you the builder? You should post on the suspension board too. Because it's unique, it's certain to be noticed there.

Wow. Do you have any more pics of the rear suspension? Does it have trailling arms or some kind of 4 or 2 link setup? It's hard to tell from the pics.

Looks like a spider, the way it's setup- not sure if that was meant or not, but if that is the direction you are taking, that is pretty original.

What's next? I hope some bodywork. Gotta lose the painted-over fender emblem, and it needs paint real bad. After it is all said and done, that will definately be a nice truck. Good luck.

That frame looks pretty wimpy, how did you attach those 2x4's and where?
...and again, have you tried corners with it? I'm just interested to see how that thing handles them.

I would also be very interested in seeing more suspension pics, like what kind of link system you are using. I don't mean to bash, but has a knowledgable suspension guy looked at your set up yet?

I try not to get into the "B/S" on here but I can't believe the audacity (sp?) of some of you guys... Granted, everyone's entitled to thier own opinion and thier own style, that's what makes this board great but you all have been here long enough to at least have some diplomacy about yourself. Constructive critism is always welcome but the shredding you are giving is unwarranted, unneccesary and IMO UNWANTED. WTF??? 1971 Cheyenne & 67cst, let's see some pics of your handy work. I would LOVE to pick apart your stuff. This guy took a truck and is trying something different with it and HE BUILT IT. It's a custom truck. Custom doesn't come out of a box, it's made with your hands... However unconventional as it may be, he has an original design and I applaud it.
As far as the structural integrity of the design goes, if you buy a new chassis for say a prostreet 40 Willy's, it is made of 2x3 & 2x4 .120 wall tubing. It looks flimsy as all hell but it's strong enough to hold a 700HP blown bigblock turning 8's & 9's all day long and be street driven. This truck is powered with the original I-6. As long as the welds are good(which they look to be OK to me), the 2x4 rails should be fine, especially if he is using .250 wall tubing. I personally would like to see a few crossmembers added and I don't really like the notch but who is to say if he is actually done with the rear setup???? I believe he is still running a 2 link setup, which if that is the case, the single bag is fine as there is no side to side articulation with that setup(ask anyone who has a 2 link and has tried going up a steep driveway apron without a posi!) Slammed67, check out www.silverstarcustoms.com They have built quite a few highdollar setups where the bridgework is actually what is supporting the weight. As far as the truck being roadworthy, I do know that last August, he drove it up from his home state of MD to NJ for a weekend of draggin at the Low Rollers End of Summer Bash. I totally agree with bagged91 this guy took a truck and made his own "show truck" or daily driver whatever with his bare hands and did something he likes!!! and as far as safety I am sure it has tag and title with insurance so lets leave the whole safety issue to the state. Personally I like the setup and think it looks mean :-) .....by the way all of you guys out there with your stockies and trucks that are hardly running...SHUTUP

I like the setup. It grabs your attention. As far as safety...well mine passed inspection with 1 rotted through trailing arm and no rockers or cab supports. Hows that? Keep up the good work and I'd like to see it finished.
