headers on 1970 c10
Im having some problems with header clearance. On a frame up restoration, I put in a new ZZ4 (350) Chev crate engine with a T350 tranny and am having some problems with clearance between the headers and the frame, and between the headers and the spark plug boots. I have tried a set of Hookers and a set of Heddmans. (I can get part numbers if needed) The Hooker headers seemed to fit better than the Heddmans, but still do not fit right. I would have to notch out a section on the frame so they do not rub, and also have to modify the plug wire routing. I am just wondering if anyone else has had these problems and what was done to fix them.

Man, you just messed up my day. I'm putting a ZZ430 in a 67 for a guy and he's already ordered a set from Hedman. Supposed to be here next week, I guess we'll see how they fit. I wanted to order a set from Street & Performance, but he found these a little cheaper. By the way, does the ZZ4 also have the d-shaped exhaust or is that only on the 430? The price from S&P for a ceramic coated, mid-length header for this was $530, custom made in about a week.
