New Project Truck!!

Some of you may remember that I sold my '70 CST a few weeks ago. I wanted to start with a better truck than it was, and I found something today that I couldn't let get by me. I bought the '69 C-10 below today for $300. Its a 307 , 3 speed truck. It runs but it skips. It is the straightest, most solid body I have seen in a long time. The red paint is original. The doors click shut, and close better than any of these I have ever had. Its showing 58,000 miles, and I think that may be correct. Eveything about is pretty clean. The front bumper and grill is tweaked a little, and there is a small dent the driver's door, but the rest body is great. I am going to use the bed on my '67 C-30 Dually, and I think I will use this cab and front clip on a SWB frame. Here are a few pics. That bed is neary flawless!!

Awesome! Really nice truck! A lot of good stuff there. Radio delete, original stovepipe on the exhaust manifold too.

Thanks guys. I didn't mention it before, but as you can see in one of the pics, I got 3 extra doors with it. 2 of them are CST doors and have the stainless vent windows which I have been looking for for my '67. When the guy told me the price, I knew I had better jump on it. The engines seems like it just needs a tuneup. It doesn't smoke, rattle, or knock. It just seems like the points, plugs and the carb all need attention. The column feels tight also. I can't believe someone hasn't scooped this old truck up by now. I have been riding past it for years, but I noticed that it was moved from time to time, so I figured it was still being driven. I happened to ride out there today, and I could tell by the mildew on the hood and roof that it had been sitting for a while. I stopped in and asked about it, and the old guy started telling me that it didn't run right and it needed tires etc., etc. I told him I was still interested, so he threw out the price and I bought on the spot.
