Is it worth $500
Have a lead on a complete TBI 305/700r4 combo out of a 89 Firebird, harness included as well as the serpentine setup and a/c compressor (I don't have an AC cab) Has 110K miles. Good truck material? How much should I be willing to pay?

Not a bad deal if you also get the computer. I've seen just the intake and fuel rail with injectors go for $300+, and you can get the larger injectors from the 350. Make sure the wiring harness is complete right down to every last sensor. Maybe even get the heads, because you will need angled bolt heads to mount the TPI intake on a 350.

I dont think I would pay $500 unless it was a 350. I think $350-400 would be a ok price for that stuff if you know for sure that the engine and transmission dont have anything wrong with them.

That's what I thought too. I'm going to see if I can talk him down. It is a running setup. No oil burning no leaks....Looking for something I can drop into the truck for cheap and go. Anyone else?

If it was a TPI that would be a decent price. Since it's TBI I agree with neonlarry.
It will be nice that have in the truck though. And should go for a while longer before you have to rebuild it.

Hmm, wait a minute, I was thinking you said tpi becasue of what the other person said. You should be able to get a tpi (way better) for no more than $400. I got 2 complete tpi engines (no tranny though) for like $150 each.

How much should I offer for just the trans? or just the engine. I don't have an engine at all right now and I'm not really in a hurry, but this is close enough to pick up. The engine and trans are seperated already and I know there was someone else who was interested in the engine. Says the trans shifted good. Not for Hi Po (at least not at this time).

I would offer $100 at most. If it doens't last long it will cost you quite a bit to rebuild.
