Dash removal question
Need to know how the dash is attached to the cab...Is it bolted on...welded and bolted or just welded. Also how much work is involved in replacing it. I just inhereted a truck that the prev. owner cut the ashtray and stereo location out of the dash... What a crime

It is bolted and welded but not that hard to change. There are a few bolts along the sides(3 on each side if I remember right). The easiest way is to cut underneath the dash pad and weld new one in.

I would put a patch panel in it's place but there is more damage to the dash sheetmetal than it's worth. Lots of "custom" buttons, switches and the like that used to control something but now they are just an eyesore. Thanks for the info on where to look when cutting out the dash.

here's mine,,,,,
thought about making something out of wood to match the woodgrain on the glovebox,,,,,maybe in the shape of the glovebox door (only smaller of course) but turned upside down. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciatted.
