Ran out to my in-laws to get a load of ash today. The old 1/2 ton rode pretty nice on the way home.

Yeah, i have played that game before. "just a few more won't hurt". I don't enjoy putting leaf springs in if i don't have too!!!! I had 2900 pounds of washed sand in there once. Found out that was TOO much for the old springs...

When I was a boy, Daddy would load the old 69 swb/step with cattle bars on the back with oak firewood until the overload bumpers were on the axles. Pulled it home in second gear with the headlights shining the tree tops!

Thats a decent size load.I have a load like that a couple of times a month,in fact prolly tomorrow.

Thats a good load on there. I remeber haulin 60 bushels of wheat in the back of the old mans 81 chevy lets see 60 lbs per busheell x 60 bushells...oops i think the 1/2 ton was a bit overloaded. plus we hauled it over 80 miles
