Best inexpensive lowering kit?
I see so many good looking lowered trucks, I have a real clean 74 swb I would like to lower. Who sells the best priced kit to go 2 1/2 and 4". Any additional info would be nice. Thanks

Just cut your front springs in half and pull all but 1 leaf in the rear. It will ride great and look great too!
Nah, DO NOT DO THAT. Get some 3" springs up front and a flip kit out in the back, thats the cheapest way to get the stance you are looking for.

USED SPINDLES AND FLIP KIT
If you have the patience. I found a set of used Belltech spindles for around $125 shipped on ebay and a gently used flip kit from a board member for $50-60. Patience is the key, the rest of the truck world is looking for the same thing. Cheap fell through on mine though. Since my drop spindles were for the 1.25 rotors and my truck had 1.00 rotors and a worn out front suspension I only re-used the control arms, steering box, and center link. I also had to replace the rear spring bushings, bolts, and shocks. All total I have somewhere in the area of $600-700 in the suspension. I quit counting after a while. |

whatever you do, avoid Chassis Tech components like the plague. i had a Chassis Tech 2.5/4 on my 82 C10, products were absolute garbage.

I would check Summit Racing. They seem to have the best prices, and a few brands to choose from. Drop springs were very reasonably priced, as well as shackles and flip kits.
I paid $120 for the 3" spindles and i think $85 for the flip kit. You can't beat their shipping either- It was $8 to ship about 60LBS to my house in illinois!! |
