Still keepin an eye out for a rust free left front fender for the tow truck. It's a Viking40 with a converted wheel lift. Any leads appreciated.

Photo for LF Fender
Thanks for the heads up Bob. I took some digital pics, now to locate and learn how to post. If you have a crash course in how to post jpg files I'll try to understand the procedure.
Second question. Do you have any idea on fender interchange? I found two nice 57 big fenders from WY. I wonder if they are at all compatible, or am I starting to add a core support, grille and other things. Any thoughts? Thanks for any thoughts on the exchange. |

Viking? I knew that 55-59's were Tough Old Iron ... but WOW Vikings! ?
LRGMC, As for posting your photos, hop on over to the 55-59 Message Board on this BB, and look for Shagrolet's instructions that he recently posted for me. I have not tried to post my first photos yet, so I would have to learn with you.
As for the interchange of fenders, I am sure you know that 55-57's have a single headlight, while the 58-59's have dual headlights in the fenders. Of course - I am no expert on the big trucks from 55-59. (or anything else for that matter!) LOL I have a copy of the 1955 (Chevrolet) Factory Assembly Manual. This excellent resource book should be in garage of "55-59 truck nut"! In the 55 Factory Assembly Manual, every body part is shown in full 3-D drawings (factory drawn blueprints) for the 1955 Chevy Trucks, and includes the 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 Series. The details are awesome, right down to the nuts and bolts with part numbers! You should try and get this one or other books for your Viking. (I love that name!) Wow! Apache, Viking, Nomad - what secret message were those designers trying to get accross in those days? I am including a link to Gregs On-Line. There are all the great resource books listed on his web site for us "truck nuts". Here it is, copy to your browser: http://www.gregsonline.com/eshop/Htm...ruck-books.htm Lets see the photos of the Viking! Does it have a sword and shield for emblems or what? LOL KEEP POSTING ... rico_bob
