Yo want to get in touch with Joe (Elgracho), he has one and is very knowledgable on these trucks. Here is a link to his site...

What kinds of interior/exterior trim are you looking for? The only really special pieces are the exterior decals (reproductions are available) and the floor mats (good luck...) The rest of the options included in the special edition package were also available on the rest of the truck line and many of them can be obtained from several different suppliers.

This is a little off-subject, but since we are talking GMC special editions, does anybody know where I can get Repro or NOS Heavy Half decals for a '78 GMC Sierra Heavy Half. Joe doesn't have any info on his site about them.

I don't mention the Heavy Half because it isn't really a Special Edition truck. In reality, there isn't that much special about the Gentleman Jim, the Beau James or the Indy Hauler's either, but they were specifically called out by GM as special editions. The Heavy Half/Big 10s were really work arounds to emission controls/catalytic converters as Ken so aptly put in this thread. Even the GMC Street Coupe and Chevy Sport trucks were listed as regular options available on a variety of truck configurations rather than as special edition trucks.

As for the decals, I don't know of a source, I'd probably try to use a parts locator (www.partsvoice.com etc...) for part number 14004738 (Heavy Half) or 473979 (Big 10) or keep an eye on Ebay for some NOS decals.

ElGracho, I have 2 Beau James questions.

Were they all longbeds?
Are the Beau James decals also being reproduced like the Gentleman Jim ones are?

As a last resort, I can reproduce about any decal if I have a decent one to use as an example. The next best thing is a high resolution photo of one. The glue on NOS decals that you might find will most likely be bad. We run into this all of the time. The NOS decals are excellent to use as an example, though.

We have a sign shop, but I won't shamelessly self-promote myself by posting a link on the board.

According to the press release and the brochure, all Beau James trucks were long beds. That being said, there was a truck being sold on traderonline.com where someone claimed they had a rare short bed Beau James. I can't be sure one didn't slip out the door, but I believe it was a clone.

Yes, the Beau James decals are also being reproduced. LMC Truck is now listing the Beau James and Gentleman Jim decals. I have no idea of their quality. I've heard really good things about the decals from here:
