A/C or no A/C?
I am finally getting around to getting a pretty good start on my Blazer, but have a small dilemma. I plan on keeping the top off all of the time, so I am trying to decide if I should get rid of all of the A/C equipment. I am thinking if I pull it, it will clean everything up quite a bit. The down side is that it actually works. Any ideas?

If you decide to pull it don't toss it or sell it. I agree that it would clean everything up alot but then on the other hand it might be nice to have once and awhile.

Well, if you're leaving the top off all the time, I would delete the A/C. Like you said, it will clean up the bay as well as the firewall. That said, given the Texas heat/sun, is there a chance that you may cruise in it sometimes with the top on? If so, you may want to keep it. If you got the funds, an aftermarket A/C (like Vintage Air) would give cool air and clean up the firewall sorta like 'Gregsmx' 75 Blazer.

Dude are you on crack? You live in central Texas where it is not uncommon to be close to 100 degrees during the summer. Even if you don't have the top on it still feels good to have some cool air blowing on you when your sitting still.
If you want topless with no a/c get a motorcycle....

After spending many hours and several hundred dollars getting my A/C working right, it makes me cringe to think of yanking out an A/C system that is working.

Well, yes and no. I had to pull the condenser out anyhow, to get the radiator support out. The charge that was there las May is gone now. I think I may just go with a Vintage Air unit once I get the truck back on the road. I have a feeling I will have about as much putting this right as a Vintage Air unit would be, and it is cleaner too.

Well I say pull it all out and sell it to me. I live in Central Cali and it get 100+ here in the summer all the time. I would love to put it in my 76 K15.

I know you're in Texas, but I do know that it does rain there on occasion. Here on the East Coast, we get lots of rain. I even have A/C in my Jeep. Your windows will fog up to no end without A/C to dry the air...
