Seat Belt ?
I know this has been asked, and if the search were functioning, I'd use it, but please indulge me a little here..... But I have an 85, and want to put shoulder belts in the middle & rear. I verified, and I do have the upper mounting bolt holes in the truck. The question is, besides the dealer (he wants too much), where can I get these???
Thanx! MAS |

Just post on every Chevy Board you can. I found many on different boards but I found the correct color ones here.
You may want to check that you have the lower mounting points for the 3rd row seat. It's 3 holes that are in the side panel just above the wheel well. May be more work than you want to do if they are not there. My 87 does NOT have these so I will need to add some support back there so I can add them. The top mounting points were both there for 2nd and 3rd. I am still convinced that Crew CAb rear belts will work in a Burb's 2nd row. The mounting tab is only at a slightly different angle and can be bent to work in the Burb. |

In such a case, I am looking for some blue ones.... I'll have to check the mounting on the 3rd row seats to see if I have the mounting points. If you don't have them on an 87, I don't hold out much hope for my 85.....

My '84 has the threaded mounting holes. I got the 2nd row shoulder belts from a wrecker. Cut a hole in the trim and bolted them in. Could not be any easier.
I even noticed a gutted '79 or '80 model at the yard that also had the upper mounting holes. They must have known for many years rear shoulder belts would be law someday. Rear crewcab belts don't work. They are actually the same as regular cab belts. I considered stealing the belts from my crewcab, but there is very little room on the Burb for the retractor in the first place - and the crewcab ones are bigger. The different angle would also mess with the inertia lock mechanism.

But does your 84 has the threaded mounting holes in the side panel above the fender wells for the 3rd row belts? That is the only thing my 87 is missing. And the 89 Crewcab I looked at had the exact same belt in the rear as my 2nd row. Only thing would be the mounting angle. But it's only steel it can be worked to work. |
