I have the Brake Drums and Backing Plates for an 8 Lug HO72 rear axle for sale. They are for 2" x 12" brake shoes.
The Drums were sandblasted, sprayed with gloss black RustOleum, and cut/re-surfaced last week. The Backing Plates were sandblasted on the outside, and also sprayed with gloss black RustOleum. These Drums are very expensive to replace with new/reman. units, and the Backing Plates are just not available anymore from any manufacturer. $40.00 for the entire lot plus shipping. Thanks, 72longbed |

Re: HO72 Parts For Sale...............
Rob - I believe the HO72 brakes are larger. And almost impossible to find drums for.

Re: HO72 Parts For Sale...............
Found a 1971 3/4 ton ho52 rear end complete including all brake assembles for $50 and picked up the front rotors, calipers and power brake bootster and master cylinder for another $ 25. Also picked up another set of complete brake assembles for the ho52 that has all parts and drums in great condition for $25. Patience and persistance gets it done.

I bought a set a couple years ago (might of even been from 72longbed-can't even remember) but I never did use them. If I can find out a measurement, I'll know if their 52's or 72's and maybe help one of these guys out. I think mine are 72's though, if I recall. |

vtblazer,
you bought mine. The shoes are bigger (in both ways) than an HO52. You got a sweet set of drums (rare in that shape) with backing plates (just plain rare not to be rotted out) for an awesome deal. ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't Crush 'em.......... Wire Brush 'em!! 72longbed |

Longhorn Man,
I've got an HO72 under my K20 right now. Converted it to 12.5" disk brakes. The truck lost about 80 lbs in the process. Sweet, bullet-proof rear. Its a detroit locker 4:10. I think the HO72's are just cool looking too. They look almost sudo-military. Bad Ass! ![]() Don't Crush 'em........Wire Brush 'em!! 72longbed Last edited by 72longbed; 02-24-2007 at 07:02 PM. |
