rear end problem?

i have an 1987 short wide and it is like after i get going like 60mph then it starts houling any help

Hello zapata, welcome to the board. How many miles do you have on your truck? Rear end noise often comes with high mileage. If the noise stops when you let off the gas, then it's probably ring and pinion wear, which shouldn't hurt anything as long as it's got plenty of oil in it. If the noise doesn't stop when you let off the gas or the sound changes, it could be pinion or axle bearings. Grip tires can bring alot of noise too, but that noise should not change when you let off the gas. Hope that helps.

The GM rearends had a real problem with the "Spider Gears" getting some wear in their pins. There is a replacement kit for that situation. The job is relatively simple and the rear end does NOT have to be "set up" again, just pull the carrier out and replace the spiders. I had to do it to one of my trucks and it took away the noise.

well it viberates also not much but i can tell it does quit after i let off the gas and I allready changed the spider gears and it didn't fix it so you think it is the ring and pinion what does a new rear end run well thanks for the advice
