Tire opinions

Time to replace the tires on my Blazer. Current tires are Remington Wide Brute 33X12.5. The Blazer is used 95% on the road and I would like something with good highway manners. These have not been bad, just looking for opinions on replacements.

I like the BFG All Terrains. They handle good and make little noise. Kind of spendy though.

BFG AT are good, any AT is usually much better than MT, but some are just more of a snow tire... Goodyear MT/R are supposed to be AWESOME, but i wont pay that much fer a tire... BFG are sold at BJ's (costco, sams competitor,) Wally has cheapies and you can special order sizes they don't have in stock as is for most discount stores...

For highway trucks, I would stick with only radials with 3-ply sidewalls. Most light truck radials have only 2-ply sidewalls. I think the 3-ply sidewalls have the necessary strength to provide the good handling that 3-ply BFG ATs and MTs are famous for. I favor BFGs, but goodyear and others have been making 3-ply light truck radials for some years now. All the 3-ply light truck radials are spendy. You'll get high mileage out of them, though. Great if you intend to keep the truck long. They make good resale tires, too.

I am partial to the BFG AT's also, but if you want something a little cheaper, take a look at the General AT's. They're a BFG copy and look like they will hold up well.

I just finally got some 16 inch 8 lugs aluminum wheels, (used) and had them polished, so I put 4 new 16 BFGs on them. Man, that amde my truck ride better. And, I'll never have to pay the price for 16.5 tires again. Now all my vehicles have BFG tires on them.
