OT 67 Firebird

Went to look at a '70 Cuda with a friend and they also had a '67 Firebird in the garage. Has a 326 Auto on the column and air. Car runs. Interier in relatively good shape. Has rust in the firewall seam near the brake booster. Car would need both rear quarters, front fenders and rockers. Trunk pan was OK, floorpan had some holes in it. Just curious as to about what it would be worth. She mentioned a price of $2500. I know this car would be way beyond my capabilities to fix but maybe for someone else.

Up here easily worth $2500 USD. Even though the 326 is small, a 455 will slide in there very easily! Sounds like a good deal for someone who wants a musclecar project.

These cars are getting greater fame, since you can't touch a 1st generation Camaro basketcase for less than $2500. I think they are cooler looking, and the production numbers were less than Camaro.

This one sounds like it needs help. Firewall rust makes this car a parts car, and with your description... I would give $1000 for it.

Now lets here about the CUDA!!!

Depending on if it was a matching # car or not to me would be the deciding factor with the $2500 price tag. The rust in the firewall may be fixable depending on how bad. I assume it is by the "tray" that the wiper linkage is in... Floors are fixable, one thing I would look at is the rear framerails especially over the rear and near where the leafsprings attach. The price would have been worth it if it was a 400 car OR a convertible. I personally think that the 69's are a better car but the 7's & 8's are nice too...

You have to keep in mind that with the 1st Gen cars, Camaro's 9 out of 10 times WILL bring more money no matter what, even though the bird's #'s are lower. I could get more money for my 69' Camaro RS/SS A/C coupe than either my 69' Bird 400/T400 A/C, "benchseat" coupe or my 69' Bird 400/4spd convertible.

The guy I went with has owned several Cuda's including a convertible HEMI which was not a numbers matching car but extremely nice. He sold it last year due to a family situation. I happened to see just the rear of this junk car when driving by one day. Anyway, what a piece of work. Both quarters rotted out, windshield busted, interior lived in by critters, grill busted and the kids had jumped up and down on the roof. By the VIN# he said it was an original 318 car. It did run also and had the 318 in it. Owner didn't put a price on it but my budy said even this trashed it would easily bring $2-3000. What he is looking for is a 340 car. He has one of those ugly IMO purple ones right now.
He also has a 440 Duster. Can't keep that one straight on the road.
