I juust got an 88 burb, the guy before me installed a 3" lift (blocks front and rear). On the road it dances all over, bump steer. could the lift cause the problem ?

I would get the blocks out of the front asap. That is most likey your biggest problem. Very dangerous. After installing some lift springs see how it drives. It could be several things if after putting the springs on it still dances.

Mudder67, What type of things would make it dance back and forth over the road. I have put 6 inch springs on the front of my burb and cant hardley drive it that much because it wont stay strait in the road. Thanks for any help you may be.

Blocks are definitely unsafe on the front.

As far as the dancing, it could be a number of things. Did you install a dropped steering arm? From what I understand, anything over 2" of lift requires the dropped arm for proper geometry. I'm pretty sure Off Road Design carries them.

Are the front end parts good? Ball joints, tie rods, drag link, etc?

It can be several things. Too much or too little air pressure in the tires will makem dance. Bad steering stablizers. Worn out gear box, cracked frame, loose gearbox or it could be like mine and the cross member rivots have worn enough that the front end flexes when u steer. I laid under mine and watched as someone turned the wheel back and forth. The whole frame would shift from side to side and the tires wouldnt move. Pretty scary, eh. I have alway had 4 inch lifts and never used a dropped arm. I use a 4" raised steering arm.
