New springs.........

Just got a price for new rear springs (4 "). With new shims and ubolts...near $400 bucks.

Yep rear springs are damn expensive. I ordered mine from a vendor on another board who mixed up the part #'s and got my rear springs w/shipping for only $260!!!

Hey Mudder, As the saying goes, "I feel your pain " I just replaced my 30+ year rear springs last fall. 1/2T springs were $202 plus tax, $90 for new U-bolts and grade 8 hardware, plus I "wussed" out and had them installed. After watching the guy use an impact, pry bars, 3 lb. sledge, a blue-tip wrench and a few cuss words, (more than a few, really) I was glad I let him do it for the $90!! He earned every bit of it ! Grand total of $415 but it sets like it did 30+ years ago. Did the front springs year before and it was $525. Shopped around and found the better price when it came to the rear.

I just installed my rear springs(4") that I bought used, new bushings cost me $40, grade 8 hardware another $20.

1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX
1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears
1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now.....
1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
