Wheres the vin

OK i got a 1972 Chevy pickup and can't find the vin plate if anyone knows where it is can u tell me and if it is a 73 frame does anyone know where the vin number is?

should be on one of the silver plates on the door frame

You'll find one of them on the sticker in the glovebox door (if it exists).
You'll find another inside the driver's side door where it latches, a few inches below where the gas filler is located (but on the inside of the door)

Vin plate should be on door jamb in either era.

The VIN # should be available in four places and all should match.

1) Driver's door (blue sticker)
2) Drivers door pillar (metal plate)
3) Glove box (options sticker)
4) Stamping on upper surface of frame rail (drivers side around PS pump)

There is also a stampimg under the cab near the exhaust hanger have to use a mirror to see that one though..

Hey Shifty, just curious but the door plate vin says "CS148A1288"?
What does the VIN number on the glove box say?
Shouldn't it have 6 digits after the "A" for the serial number?
I've never seen such a short serial number.
