Disc Brake Conversion
Wondered if some body could help me
I live in Australia and am doing up a 1969 Chevy C10 Stepside Would like to know where I could buy a Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit complete with 2 1/2" Drop Spindles, ball joints, and tie rod ends. I currently have a friend in USA who will bring kit back with him. He will be around the Calafornia and Texas areas. |

I have the Early Classic Enterprises stuff on my '69. It's been on there since Oct. 01, with no problems.
ECE components utilize stock ball joints, stock brake pads and stock tie rod ends. There are other manufacturers whose kits use different, i.e. special, tie rod ends. The ECE system uses stock GM brake rotors, if you go with the 5-lug. Their 6-lug rotor is what I used, because I already had a decent set of wheels. I can always change over to 5-lug, with GM components. Brake calipers are stock GM. There is something to be considered, in the fact that the parts are stock GM stuff. They have always been very helpful in any questions that I had. One thing to remember is that converting from drums to disc, will add about 2 inches width to the front track of your truck. I had to go to 15x7 wheels on the front, to keep them from sticking out past the edge of the fenders (okay, wings). Do you Aussie's use the English terms for automotive parts, like wings, bonnet, boot, etc? Just curious. I don't think you would make a mistake, to go with the ECE product.

I like ECE's parts better than any else. Everything I bought fit like parts should fit.
