who can tell me if there some type of gasket between the rear stepside fenders and the the bedside. fenders seem to be noisey and maybe i forgot the gasket to cut the rattle noise,

They originally just had some caulk like material between them,but if you are getting noise check all the bolts and braces.

LMC has a vinyl gasket type rig that I tried. I hate it, looks like crap. Next time I remove the fenders when they go back on I am gonna get some of the stuff the electricians on my last submarine called "monkey sh!t", which doesn't set up and dry out. That's what the factory stuff looked like.

Monkey dung is also good for sealing anything that comes through the firewall.

Your local body shop will sell a product called GM Strip-Calk that is intened to be used between the fender flange and body. It is a sticky black material that looks like black licorice roll candy that you put between the flange and and fender. When you tighten the bolts it extrudes to fill the joint and then scrape away the excess if it happens to extrude out of the joint. It is not very expensive and you will get enough to do several trucks in one box but it should last forever.

There should be "fender welting" in between the fender and bedside. I got mine from Chevy duty and it works well, looks great. They had black or chrome.

I like the idea of sealing that area with seam sealer/body caulk but I'd be afraid of sealing in moisture or trapping water and making matters worse.

That's the same stuff I have now. My fenders were taken off the truck when it was new and stored in a barn until I bought the truck. The fenders (which looked brand new) had a kind of caulk on them, it ws nothing like the fender welting and I won't be reusing the fender welting.
