Hood Safety Latch Spring - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need the small spring that connects to the safety latch on the hood release. Discontinued from GM and local parts store did not have anything similiar. Anyone know where I can get one. See pic below.

Have you tried your local hardware store? My local hardware has a great selection of springs.
