'69 Rear track Arm Rot

I'm under my 69 SWB truck hanging the bag setup and notice a spot near the middle of the left track arm that looks like a rust eruption. Get out a pick and sho nuff its rotted all the way thru in an area 2" X 4" about 6" forward of the spring mount Took a ball peen and worked both L&R arms front to back and the right seems/sounds solid. About ten lbs of what used to be metal fell out of the center of the left one. Whats the best way to fix this arm ? Add some plate or replace the arm ? Past experiances and opinions please !
