looking to buy, have ???s

just looking for a few opinions...
within the next 24-48 hours i will most likely be buying a 91 Chevy Suburban, 2wd 2500 with a 454 and was wondering if theres any specific quirks or things i should know before buying?
I currently have a 76GMC and as i am used to older trucks (79 and older), i am just wondering what problems to look for that is known with this series of burbs.

I appreciate any help given...

In the past 30 years about 90% of Fords are still on the road, the other 10% made it home.

if it has power windows, mine act up some times...they just go super slow one day and like new the next. check for rust, lift up the carpet in the rear behind the third row (if it has it). also look closely around the outer window seals because i have seen quite a few people try and paint over rust their. when i got mine the alternator was bad but nobody at the car lot knew it because noone had driven it at night. the first night i had it i got straded because the lights just drained too much. i dont know anything about the big blocks so i cant comment on that. hope i was a help.

well the alternator is a GM problem in general since mid 80's until late 90s. I had a 89 Olds Cutlass with alternator replaced, my moms 91 Lumina and 93 Gran Prix and 03 Impala. Also a friend had same thing on his 86 K1500, another friend's 92 C2500.... so it is a well known chevy problem... hopefully for the 3/4 ton burb they put a bit heavier duty one to go along with the camper extras and the 454

Nice thing is.... for '91 in a 3/4-ton you got OVERDRIVE - yes, a 4L80E. Should help the 454 fuel situation a little You also get the heavier duty full-floating rear end with the 454. It should also have shoulder belts for all positions.

All the power junk does not age gracefully. Expect problems. My door locks stopped working, one window is intermittent, another died completely, and the tailgate is dead.

I hope the one you're looking at has barn doors.

ok i got it tonight.. it is definately a beast!!! yes it has the full swing open doors with the nylon strap... as for gas eater I'm not too worried, my 76 GMC 1500 was a gas eater it hink due to improper carb calibration... oh well im selling that so no worries...
ok heres some stats for burb lovers...
91 Chevy 2500, 454 EFI auto w/ OD, 135K miles, excellent body with what looks liek new paint job, cloth on front and back seats are excellent except the drivers portion has some rips.... back area is bare metal (painted of course, no cloth)... um cant think of anything else, look for my new post in the pictures area sometime Sunday...

oh yeah, bought it for $2600 cash
definate good deal based on its shape and how it runs...
