I was wondering did our trucks come with generators or alternaters

Alternators only. most manufacturers stopped using generators early 50's if I am not mistaken.

I'm thinking the GM trucks chainged over in the 60 - 66 model run...but I may well be mistaken on that.

I always thought it was strange that the idiot light dashes say "Generator" on the warning light.

To this day, GM refers to alternators as generators.
