Question Hood to Cowl Seal - Dumb Question

I bought a new hood to cowl seal for my truck. There wasn't one on the truck, my question is does the rubber base go under the cowl channel or on top. Seems like it should go on the bottom, but I am not sure.

Thanks Kenny

Between the cowl and the firewall (under the cowl panel).

If your new cowl seal has an "L" shaped profile instead of a "U" shaped profile, your hood won't close once you install it. I bought one with an "L" shaped profile from LMC, and had this problem. I ended up throwing it in the trash.

All, thank you very much, you have verified what I originally thought. Now I will see if the hood closes correctly, again, many thanks.
