I spent yesterday morning watching my daughters volleyball team wrap up a 4 stop series. This tournament drew the top teams in the region to compete over four weekends for the best of the best. They got off to a slow start and dropped their first game 11-25. It looked like it was going to be a bad day. Then they came to life and proceded to beat every team that they played. They ended the day beating a team that had recently bumped them from a shot at the gold in another tournament. It was sweet revenge to see them beat that team and be crowned queens of the court in the Texas Power League.

Today I got up early and worked in my yard all day long. With a the help of my yard crew I got 6 yards of mulch spread, 10-12 flats of flowers planted, and a bunch of plants transplanted. We finally wrapped up at 5:00, and I am beat.

What did you get done?

I put a set of Warn Manual hubs in my 89 Blazer. I also fixed the toe in(it was toed out about 1/2 inch).

Also, the steering wheel was turned right when going down the road straight, fixed that too!

I got started pulling the Project 92 apart. Got the bed off as well as the rearend out and the fuel tank. Tore the front end down as well.

Went to state in auto tech on rebuilding a starter that was on our 327 vega. I got 6 out of 10 on was it auto tech related, needless to say me and my instructor were both verry upset and not to happy, I got alot of B.S. points taken off, and wound up with an 87 out of 100. But next year I'm going to build a 370hp. 350 for my project.

2) started 'reclaiming' our basement suite. Upstairs was getting too cramped. I'll have a computer room, and my wife will have a sewing room, and place to hold her mother's group meetings.

3) found a good deal on one 9.00R16 Michelin XL tire. Only need three more now

just did basic maintenance with my new 91 burb.. replaced air filter, checked the plugs and wires, checked over the fluids, bought a new battery, went to circus with wife & daughter, cleaned out my 76 that im selling....
not much overall but its hard to get anything done with the wife around on weekends lol

got to step back to say wednesday... had to replace a water pump.. it went nice and smooth.. until i took a break to play with the daughter and while kicking a ball around i severly rolled my ankle. I heard it pop and i felt like i was going to pass out. In the few minutes time that it took me to hobble inside my ankle had swollen up like a baseball or even close to a softball and is now black and blue. After laying on the couch for 2hrs waiting for my mother in law (nurse) to get home.. i return to putting the water pump on...... in the dark! I finished it up that night except for new belts the wife picked up for me the next morning. I had intended to do the front rubber brake hoses... but due to events had to put if off until sat...

Sat... get to putting brake hoses on.. took a bit to figure out as i have never done this before.. I already had the new ones i picked up when i got the water pump.. I couldnt get the old rubber hoses off the metal lines.. So i ended up taking the metal lines off at the proportioning block... still couldnt brake them loose... so i run back into town, which after moving is now a 20 min drive... get to parts store and realize i had already used my last check.... back to the house where i again stepped wrong and rolled my ankle. Back into town and the only metal lines they have are 4' and 8" long. too long and too short for what i need. But i take them anyways... 2hrs after i had left the house the first time i return to finish the truck... again.. end up working in the dark.. after quite a bit of massaging the short drivers side line is on.. and the rubber line connected to the metal line.. the passenger side was done easily. The passenger side rubber line went on the caliper nice and easy.. on to the drivers side where i find out... they had given me 2 passenger sidelines.. i call it a night...

Sun.. work 12hrs and came home to make sure that i indeed had 2 passenger side lines.. yep no doubt about it... SOOOO... tomorrow i have to go get the right one, install it.. put on new brake pads and bleed the system... a 2-3hrs job has now turned into a 3 day job...

sorry...got a bit long winded...

dropped the 2nd new big block in my truck its definately getting easier to do the 2nd time lol. Bolted on all the accesories and radiator did maint on the yukon. Went to the swap meet here and bought my daughter a telescope she's 4 and has been begging us for one. Strange but good. LOL have a good week all. Andy

I feel your pain about the rubber brake lines. I used a cut off wheel to get mine out. I cut on the outside of the frame as close as I could get to the frame. Then grinded on the same area to get the rest in combination with a chisel and punch with a big hammer. Got it free from the frame moved the hard line just enough to get a bite on remaining old rubber line where the metal is and the hard line meets with two vice-grips. Got those loosened then slid the flat metal nut on the hard line and pushed the hard line back though the frame. So I could have much easier access to tighten the hard line. Tightened it up a little then put the attachment clip in the upper a-arm and finished tightening the brake line. Went back and tighten the flat metal washer up. Then put the banjo fitting end on the caliper and bleed the front brakes.

I started out trying the hard way. Using the line wrench and being a magician to get the line wrench flush with the brake line nut. Finally got it and then they didn't want to break loose at all. I had sprayed them for two weeks with penetrating oil. I didn't want to strip the brake line nut, I hate working with hydraulic lines and flares and all that happy time lining everything back up. So I did it my way the best I could come up with and made it happen.

Need to go back at touch up the frame where its bare and paint it.

well this started on thursday, but I replaced the brakes on my trailer, all new backing plate and shoe assemblies, new drums,bearings, etc. Then on friday while the roof at my work was getting redone I had just completed getting my truck running again, weeks earlier I had replaced the heads, cam, intake, and put headers on my truck and so I got it running and dialed the carb in. I found the previous owner had the wrong carb gasket on so the secondaries wouldn't open. Changed that, also made a homemade cold air cleaner system using a 5 1/2" air cleaner lid and cutting out the baffle in the radiator support.
Then I wired up the trailer brake signal controller to my truck, and now my brakes on my trailer work awesome!!!
I did find out that my truck when loaded with the car on the trailer that it rides on the snubbers so I either put air bags or raise the truck up.

Finally got my radiator all soldered up. Flushed it all out and got it cleaned up. Put in some new ACDelco spark plugs in my '79 and it now starts the first time every time I fire it up. The old autolite plugs were so full of gunk it amazes me it still even started. Was not using a cheater pipe and ended up busting the hell outta my left hand when it bangded againgst the frame. Been raining alot so not up to too much else.
Ohh yeah and I got my carb tuned up good so its running better and got some new differantial breather lines put in.

Finished putting sound deadiner on the floor of the '74, and put in some new carpet. Tried in vain to adapt a set of seat belts (3 point) to replace the factory lap belts, so will have to order some. Cleaned up the seat (from a 92 F-150) and reinstalled it. Then put a stop-gap fix on the windshield rubber to stop the small leak. It is the first time this truck has had carpet in the 15 years I have had it. It's beginning to look like (and sound) like a new truck.
