theft at the shop today, I am guilty

the wife & I decided to make one last trip with the truck before putting him in a 4 year coma. we loaded up a bunch of stuff to haul out to the dumpster at work. everything went perfectly. he started right up after a 6 week slumber. not a problem what-so-ever until.......
I was away from home with nothing more than Leatherman tool!!!!! my shop keys were at home & there was no one around to give me a hand. no cell phone!!! <note to self; GET A CELL PHONE, moron!!>
I converted it over to an int. reg alt. when I swapped in the SBC. the wire coming from the starter to the back of alt shorted out against the headers & proceeded to drain down my 8 year old Interstate to the point of barely working the dome light. so what was I to do?! first hot day (it seemed) & the wife was with "complaining" about the predicament "I got us into"!!!
well, I had to steal my own truck. I borrowed a 12 G wire I had added for my headlight relay upgrade to run from the batt. to the HEI coil & then cut & stripped the start wire just above the heaterbox. cool, now we can go get some lunch. (that was when I discovered the batt was dead) ARRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!! @#$%^&*&^%$#@!

oh wait a minute, I thought. "honey, close your eyes for a few minutes" then I acquisitioned a battery from a customers truck. I WILL return it in the morning. then after all that "fun" I had the joy of driving it home with no brake lights, & no turn signals. good thing i remebered how to use hand signals.

Ditch that Interstate and get a REAL battery - how about a Delco, I hear you are real fond of those

Forget about the batteries and get a cold one for you and a foot rub for the wife.

That will make booth of you happy, and don't feel you need to stop after the first. Good things always come in pairs.
