brake hose help!!!
Background:
I'm in the process of installing disk brakes on my '67 C-20. I have all the parts from a '71-72 C-20. I bought new front calipers from GMC Paul's (NICE), but I can't remember where I bought the hoses. The problem is while trying to install the hose on the caliper, I noticed that the end of the hose won't fit flush on the caliper. The end of the hose has some sort of a "pin" sticking out of the round end that looks like I'd need to cut off. What am I doing wrong??? The caliper has a place for the hose end to fit, but not this pin thing! Thanks! Dave

funny how your first thought was " looks like I'd need to cut off."
just the way you worded it. the pin is an alignment pin meant to ensure the hose is installed correctly to the matching caliper.check the mount for the fitting on the caliper real close.you may find the spot for the pin does not allow you to install the hose like you need it to be.possible that hose is for the other side. if this doesn't help, return the hoses for the correct ones. if you have the packages, try brousing the parts stores for like packages.once you find one just swap them out. worst case;cut the pin off & go.just make sure the hose is not twisted once installed. it should have a lay line on it that should not look like a twizzler.
