Checklist before you drive?

after you have completed your truck, whether it be a frame off resto or just a motor swap, do you have a checklist that you go through before putting the truck on the road? if so, what does it consist of?

In my case I take....

-A pack of smokes & Bic lighter
-A couple cans of Coke
-The cell phone
-My small toolbox

I check all fluids and belts. Go over all the key bolts & nuts just to double check ie: u-joints, motor mounts, starter, brackets, ect. Check for dangleing or loose wires. Check wheel lug nuts with a torque wrench. In some cases you shd. pull the dist. and prime the oil pump if you have not done so already. These are some of the main ones anyway, Happy truckin. Doug

Double check all the fluids. Radiator, engine oil, transmission fluid, rear end greese. Make sure all the balljoints have been greezed. Body is properly secured too.

In our state, make sure you have your proof of insurance in the glove box. Been driving around the 68 a couple days and realized I never put it in the truck. And a good idea to make sure all tail lites and break lites work.

Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.

Jeff, you've got some funny ones on here today. Blues Brothers was filmed in the town I moved from in Illinois 19 years ago.

How about a checklist before leaving on any road trip?

"...we're on a mission from God!" The Blues Brothers

I always like to have my towing insurance paid up! I have a two page list right now and it keeps getting longer...LOL! I don't think I am getting any closer to that first proverbial "road trip"!

Who needs a checklist, get AAA.

Check the air in the spare.

HAHA! That was great!

In my case I have to run around the truck for 2 hours looking for tools I know I have forgotten and sure enough "Cling clang Cling clang ..." and I see the tool bounce'n down the road behind me. And I swear they are never there when I turn around to pick'em up.

No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.
