could be your battery? When the truck is running and you have a voltmeter on the right battery trminals, you should be pulling over 14 Volts at idle. If it's about half that, then your battery is screwed. I had this happen last fall on mine, ended up being a DUD battery. Usually when one part of your charging system starts to go, the rest will follow.

Term 1 is the voltage sense line.
NO voltage should be present. This terminal tells the alt to start chargeing. It's take's a "sense" of the voltage being used by the electrical system and tells the alt to either produce more or less voltage via the internal voltage regulator.

Check the fuses under the hood, along the fenders near the front. These are in black holders. They are used for the charging system. I think they are 5a and are used for the gauge circuit.

Those are for the Amp gauge only.
Even if both those fuses are blown the charging system will still work.

I mistakenly stated that term #1 "sense's" voltage.I'm sorry but that would be terminal #2.
Term. #1 only "turns on" the alt. and tells it to start charging. It also can operate the "ALT/charger" idiot light if don't have the gauge inst. cluster. Sorry for the misinformation.
