I did my wifes 91 accord couple yearts back. Replaced the condensor and drier. It had a leak but the compressor was still ok.Compressor failure dumps alot crap into the system that garbage has to be flushed out.I bought a manifold gauge w/hoses leak about $80 a leak detector and cheap vacuum pump $50.Once the system is clean it is vacuumed out removing all moisture. Then the freon is suctioned back into the system.
It worked pretty good had a hard time gettin the freon to go back in but finally got it.This site has the tools. http://www.ackits.com/index.cfm?fuse...=black%20death I'm sure others with more experience will chime in. GO DAWGS!!! mike
