in 72, only 6% of the trucks built had the optional tool box.
This option started in '70. |

Was that a factory option or a dealer installed one?

It seems like I saw a reproduction tool box door at Brothers one time. If I remember right it was fiberglass and expensive.

Stowage, The act or operation of stowing; the state or manner of being stowed; room or accommodation for stowing something; a place in which something is or may be stowed; that which is stowed or to be stowed; a charge for stowing something. Wedsters Dictionary of the English Language

A few years ago i had a 73 w/ the box. It looked exactly like the ones pictured here. You may be able to find one of those as a replacement since 73-87's are dime a dozen!

What makes them hard to find is not only the 6%, but the fact that 80% of those are rusted out. Even here in Cali its almost impossible to find a good door.
